Bout 15 – Co-main event Women’s 115lbs.
The much anticipated amatuer debut of Cheyanne Vlismas (0-1) from Gracie Tampa didn’t go as wished. Ingrig Medrano (1-1) od AOL MMA used her Olympics wrestling to outlast a tough Vlismas. With huge slams and blows to the body, Both fighters appeared to be emotionally charged up for the fight. Vlismas was unable to mount an offense against Medrano. The wrestler was penalized one point by referee Ross Kellin for strikes to the head/face. Only punches to the body were allowed in this fight (see explanation of Florida amateur MMA rules below) and Medrano had been warned once. In the 3rd round, Medrano locked in an armbar and Vlismas defended. It looked eerily similar to the one Ronda Rousey put on Miesha Tate. However, Vlismas was able to hold on, but even with the deducted point, Medrano won a unanimous decision. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.472025026217544.1073741879.100002301528548&type=3&l=34060cab55
